Was found near Konigsberg (Kaliningrad).
Very interesting and rare thing.

FG-42 7,92 mm automatic rifle for paratroopers. Seems ratherly suffered during more than six decades in the soil...
I believe it is rare, for less than 10.000 weapons were built, and most of those never saw battle.

Your friend has a piece of history in his "hands". Could it be better just to keep this FG42 as it is and not to try to restore it and destroy the original features!?

No restoration, only cleaning.
What a pity, codition is not good.
