PS. The Finnish name of Лодейное Поле town is Lotinapelto. From autumn -41 to summer -44 the Finnish 5. division was assigned there as Syväri front defensive position.

Red army crossed river Desna - Tshernigov seized
On September the 21st 1943 Marhal of the Soviet Union J. STALIN declared an order, which a.o.t. says:
"Troops of the middle front, proceeding their furious attack, have succesfully crossed the DESNA-river and by a skillful circular motion after three days intense fighting have today, September the 21st, by an assaulting charge seized the district centre, town of TSHERNIGOV, that was the primary German defence base by the downstream of river DESNA.
As the result have our troops broken previously built German defence line of whole length of the west bank of DESNA-river, and the German's plan to halt the attack of our troops by the river DESNA must be recognized as collapsed."

Finnish soldiers and officers!
The summer offensive of the Red army is a continuation for it's winter victories, which turned the whole Hitlerish war machine into this present heavy trouble.
Last year on March the 3rd, when the German troops stood in the front of Stalingrad and Rommel's German-Italian troops at the gates of Egypt, Hitler boasted: "What we once have conquered, we will hold tight, and where we are standing now, can no one else in any way penetrate in".
Now 10 months have passed since that. The only Germans that remained in the position by the river Volga are those who are now under the dirt, "watching as the potato is growing", and the Grenadiers of Corporal Hitler who still are alive are now leaping across Dnepr.
The African army of Rommel has been shattered, the German-Italian axis has broken and the Allied troops have landed in Italy.
Today the Germans are beated by everyone and everywhere. They are hit by Russians with the Englishmen and Americans, hit by Italians with the Frenchmen and Yugoslavians, hit by the Greekmen with the Danish and Norwegians.
The fate of the Hitlerian Germany has already been solved, it's destruction is unavoidable.
Finnish frontal servicemen! Put the end to the hopeless war adventure of pro-German Ryti's government. Leave the front! Go to your homes and drive away the Germans from your country. Your brothers Italians, Norwegians and Danish are showing you the way.
Come as prisoners-of-war! Leave the sinking ship of Hitler-Mannerheim!
